How it Works
Bespoke Fixed Fees Based on Your Financial Position and Case Complexity
Fixed Fees Tailored to Your Case
Our fixed fee is calculated using our award-winning formula based on the net marital asset position — including property equity, savings, pensions, business interests, and other financial structures and the complexity of existing and anticipated issues in your case.
From this, we produce a bespoke fee that covers the entire legal process. Clients can pay the fixed fee in full or via agreed monthly instalments.
Two Pathways
While divorce often involves wider family issues — including arrangements for children — the financial aspects of a case typically follow one of two pathways. Some matters resolve through negotiation and agreement without court involvement. Others require a formal court application and progress through recognised legal stages.
The sections below explain each pathway and how our bespoke fixed fees apply, so you can understand what to expect and how costs remain proportionate and controlled at every stage.
Out-of-Court Resolution
For cases resolved through negotiation, mediation, or round-table meetings.
This includes:
- Full review and analysis of financial disclosure
- All negotiation and correspondence
- Round-table meetings
- Preparing and submitting the final Consent Order
Many clients achieve settlement at this stage.
Court Proceedings (If Required)
If an application is made to the court, your fixed fee reflects the four recognised stages of a financial remedy case:
Stage 1 – Issuing the application and preparing updated financial disclosure
Stage 2 – Preparing for and attending the First Direction Appointment (the initial “case management” hearing)
Stage 3 – Preparing for and attending the Financial Dispute Resolution hearing
A Financial Dispute Resolution hearing is a Without Prejudice settlement hearing where the judge gives an indication of what a fair outcome is likely to be. Most cases settle at or shortly after this point.
Stage 4 – Preparing for and attending the Final Hearing, where the judge makes a binding decision
Staged Fixed Fees
With Paradigm, you only pay up to the stage where your case settles.
Recent Testimonials
Because of the international nature of my case, I needed a lawyer experienced in both English and German law. Frank quickly brought clarity to a long-running dispute, offering excellent strategic advice with reassurance and kindness. His professionalism and humanity stood out, and I would recommend him without hesitation.
Frank was a pleasure to work with while navigating a complex divorce involving high-value business assets. The case progressed all the way to the High Court and was settled on the day. An extremely challenging process was made far more manageable thanks to the firm’s friendly, timely and sensible support throughout.
This is the second time Evelyn has supported me, and I would not hesitate to contact her again. She is approachable, kind and down to earth, yet extremely professional and knowledgeable in family law. I am deeply grateful for how she went above and beyond to help me during a difficult time.
